GPS (Global Positioning Satellite)Monitoring:
GPS is an electronic monitoring program that is used in domestic violence/stalking cases. The program uses global positioning satellite technology to monitor an offenders movements whenever they are away from their place of residence. This technology allows for inclusion zones where the offender can be and exclusion zones where they cannot be to be established. If the offender violates an exclusion zone the monitoring center then contacts the home detention field officer who conducts an investigation determines whether law enforcement personnel will be dispatched.
Most offenders placed on this program will be at the pre-trial stage. Placement in this program requires Court approval.
Participants in this program will pay $75.00 initial fee plus a $12.00 per day supervision fee during the term of their placement.
