Approval of Juvenile Community Transition Program
Advisory Board Chairman Dave Cook recognized Judge Marilyn Moores as she discussed the grant application. Judge Moores stated that the program is working and that fewer youth are going to DOC. Judge Moores stated that CTP provides therapeutic, home-based services to youth and their families immediately upon commitment. Each child is matched with a home-based service provider as well as a mentor through the AIM program.
Judge Moores also stated that because of the timing of the original grant they were unable to spend the original funds during the grant period. She is requesting an extension of the grant through December 31, 2007 funded solely with the remaining funds.
Questions and answers ensued regarding the Juvenile Community Transitions Program. Judge William Young had several questions regarding the grant application.
Advisory Board Chairman David Cook asked for a motion to approve the Juvenile Community Transition Program.
The motion was moved and seconded to approve the grant as submitted. Judge Young voted no since the grant was being submitted without recommended changes.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
