Last year, the Marion County Election Board launched yVote!, giving nearly 1,500 students the chance to use the county’s voting machines for the first time. The program also included a brief presentation, voter registration and the opportunity for students to ask questions about the electoral process and election administration.
Marion County voters will go to the polls on November 3 to vote on a countywide public question. By participating in yVote!, students will have a unique opportunity to cast a ‘ballot’ and prepare for this special Election Day. Our hope is that a positive first experience will encourage their continued participation in our electoral process.
