The Marion County Auditor, Marty Womacks, is pleased to announce that Marion County, Indiana, has received the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the year 2002 for the sixth consecutive year.
This award represents a significant achievement as it reflects a commitment by the Marion County Auditor's Office to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. Guidelines are designed to assess how well the budget serves as: 1) a policy document; 2) a financial plan; 3) an operations guide; and 4) a method of communication. Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories to receive this award.
