TaxiCab Fare Proposal to be Returned to Committee
Indianapolis – At tonight’s full City-County Council meeting, Councillor Jackie Nytes will ask that Proposal No. 243, 2008 be returned to committee for additional discussion and probable amendment. Proposal No. 243, 2008, of which Councillor Nytes is a sponsor, proposes to increase the maximum taxicab fare charge. “Several unintended consequences have been brought to my attention that should be studied before this proposal moves forward,” stated Councillor Nytes. While committed to finding relief from sky-rocketing gas prices for those who make their living this way, Councillor Nytes feels the proposal needs further review and amendment.
