Councillor Conley will be taking a short leave of absence

IndianapolisAt-Large Councillor Lonnell “King Ro” Conley announced that he would be taking a leave for several weeks, beginning November 22, 2006 for a medical procedure and recovery time.  He issued the following statement:

“I would like to wish all the citizens of Indianapolis a warm, safe, and healthy holiday season.

I am going to be away from my post for a few weeks due to a medical situation.  After going for a routine check-up my Doctor discovered some blockage with which he thought we should deal, and I am going to have bypass surgery on Wednesday, November 22, 2006.

I am asking you to remember me in your thoughts and prayers during this time.  I feel very comfortable and confident having Dr. Douglas Pitts and the expert physicians of The We Care Group of Methodist Hospital performing the surgery, and they really do “care”.

My wife, Judie and her staff, as well as Jean Milharcic, Clerk of the Council, and the Council staff will keep you informed.  You may reach the Council at 327-4242.  I look forward to returning after a speedy recovery and to serving the people of our great city.

Thank you so much and may God bless you all.”
