Councillor Pfisterer to Host Community Jobs Fair
Indianapolis - Councillor Marilyn Pfisterer will host her Second Annual Jobs Fair.
WHEN: June 21, 2006
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: George Washington Community School
2215 West Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46222
Approximately twenty-five companies will participate in the jobs fair. Those companies represent a variety of areas such as hospitality, education, construction, public utilities and banking. Employment with these business sectors could allow new hires an opportunity for advancement within the company at some point in the future.
"I live on the west side of Marion County and I’ve seen many people in need of work. Having the jobs fair in the community is a great way to bring employment opportunities to the residents, " said Councillor Pfisterer.
The jobs fair and parking is free of charge to the 1,000 people that are expected to attend the event. Potential employees should bring several updated copies of their resume to the jobs fair.
Some companies may also conduct onsite interviews; therefore, individuals need to be dressed professionally and prepared to meet one on one with company representatives. Individuals without a job and those seeking to change jobs are encouraged to attend.
Councillor Pfisterer said, "A good job is essential to achieving the American Dream, so I hope residents stop by and take advantage of these wonderful opportunities."
