Map of District 2

Angela L. Mansfield is serving her first term on the Council to represent District 2.  Angela is committed to improving our community's quality of life and the quality of neighborhoods which will ensure Indianapolis' continued economic stability and success. Understanding the importance of parks to neighborhoods, Angela worked with citizens and neighborhood associations to successfully create Daubenspeck Community Nature Park, a nature preserve, located at 8900 Ditch Road.

Angela co-authored and co-sponsored Indianapolis' first Smokefree Air Ordinance.  This new law protects Indianapolis workers and citizens from the dangers of secondhand smoke.  It bans smoking in public buildings, most workplaces, and public places, including restaurants and bars that serve customers under age 18.

Angela is originally from Wolcott, Indiana and became a member of the Indianapolis community over 20 years ago.  She has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and received her law degree from Indiana University at Indianapolis.  Prior to becoming a lawyer, Angela worked as a certified public accountant in public accounting. As a lawyer, she worked in private practice, served as Section Chief of Administrative, Regulatory and Tax Litigation for the Indiana Attorney General and served as General Counsel for the Indiana State Budget Agency. Angela currently is the Manager of Tax Advisory Services at DuCharme, McMillen & Associates.

Angela is active in a variety of organizations, including serving as a board member for over 10 years on Park Regency, a subsidized apartment community for senior citizens, serving as a board member for Dance Kaleidoscope, and volunteers for IndyFeral, a non-profit organization that humanely controls and manages stray and feral cat colonies pursuant to the city's trap-neuter-return ordinance.

Angela has one son, James, who is a U.S. Marine.
