District 4, Christine Scales
Christine Scales is serving her first term as the District 4 City-County Council representative. As a 30-year resident of Indianapolis, she has been an active participant in numerous community, church and school organizations. Her years of time offered in soup kitchens, mentoring inner-city youth, working with health care organizations, and other worthy causes have afforded her an inner knowledge and unique perspective on the broad spectrum of needs and issues facing District 4 residents.
This past year, Christine served as a representative on the Washington Township Advisory Board, having filled a vacated position. As a precinct committeewoman and ward chairman, she has actively worked to increase voter turnout in Washington Township. Christine is also actively involved in her church, Tabernacle Presbyterian, where she has been a member for 27 years. She has enjoyed substitute teaching on the high school level for the past seven years, and is a parent advisor for a student led Habitat for Humanity program. Christine's family life includes husband, Richard, and their three sons, college students Andrew and William, and Joseph, a high school junior.
