Service Advisory Board Meetings

The Service Advisory Board of the Department of Waterworks exists pursuant to the Revised Consolidated Code of the Consolidated City and County of Indianapolis and Marion County, Indiana and intergovernmental agreements entered into between the Department of Waterworks and those local jurisdictions that are part of the Department of Waterworks service area. Members of the Service Advisory Board are appointed by governmental officials of the local jurisdiction they represent.

The purpose of the Service Advisory Board is to include the communities that make up the Waterworks service area in the management of the Department of Waterworks. The Service Advisory Board meets monthly in a public meeting before each meeting of the Board of Directors of the Department of Waterworks. Veolia Water North America, "VWI", the operator and manager of the waterworks, and members of the Department of Waterworks' staff attend these meetings. There, the Service Advisory Board may give its opinions on waterworks matters and request VWI or the Department of Waterworks' staff or Board of Directors to address waterworks matters. Members of the Service Advisory Board are encouraged to bring before the Service Advisory Board matters concerning service to customers in the communities they represent.
