Neighborhood Cleanups

Volunteers at the Great American clean up

DPW's Solid Waste Services division works with many neighborhood organizations and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to take part in the Great American Cleanup. These neighborhood cleanup events give residents the opportunity to spruce up their own parts of town and DPW assists by providing heavy-equipment and dumpsters.

Last year, DPW participated in more than 250 clean-ups, which yielded 2,468,880 pounds of trash collected by DPW Solid Waste Services.  In 2007, DPW participated in more than 150 clean-ups, collecting more than 1.3 million pounds of trash.

To schedule such a neighborhood clean-up, please contact Keep Indianapolis Beautiful at (317) 264-7555.
