Beautification

The Department of Public Works is a major partner in the City-wide effort to enhance the quality of life for our citizens and visitors through the beautification of our public spaces. In addition to work that includes visual enhancements to contracted public works projects, the Department partners with not-for-profit organizations, such as Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and Indianapolis Downtown, Inc., to fund and support median adoption, downtown flowers and seasonal decorative lighting.

The Department also partners with corporate and other sponsors to landscape special areas such as the Crawfordsville Road Gateway, the 29th and 30th Street Gateways near The Children's Museum, and the 38th Street Gateway currently under construction.

To learn more about specific programs such as Adopt-A-Median, alley cleanup, graffiti removal, tree & brush removal, and the weed enforcement efforts that help improve the appearance of our urban and suburban areas, please use the links on the left side of this page.
