City Agency Premieres New Television Show
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce the inaugural broadcast of its monthly television show, "DPW: Keeping Indianapolis Running."
WHEN: Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 6, 2005 1am, 7am, 1pm, 7pm (with rebroadcasts throughout April)
STATION: WCTY Government TV2 Comcast – Channel 28, Brighthouse – Channel 17
"Our Department provides many services that the community may not be aware of," said DPW Director, Jim Garrard. "This monthly television show will be a great way to further our outreach efforts."
The April broadcast covers such topics as DPW's Community Service Program, the 38th Street Capital Improvement Project, Raw Sewage Overflow Notification, pothole season and the upcoming Earth Day Indiana Festival.
Each show will be a basic information source for the public to learn more about the services offered by DPW and will include segments that highlight an issue related to the four broad categories that encompass all of DPW's services: water quality, transportation, operations and the environment. In addition, a listing of upcoming DPW public meetings will be displayed at the closing of each show.
To view the broadcast schedule or for information on future broadcasts, please visit WCTY's website at www.indygov.org/cable.
DPW is responsible for maintaining public infrastructure, including streets, sewers, bridges and traffic systems, as well as managing municipal solid waste collection and disposal. The Department also ensures a healthy, safe and natural environment through its air, land and water conservation and awareness efforts.
