Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Program
The TMDL sampling program began in May of 2002 to address the listing of E. coli on the State's 305 (b) report to EPA as an impairment of Fall Creek and Pleasant Run within Marion County. The City of Indianapolis was contracted by IDEM to assess the E. coli impact in the streams. Forty-three (43) sites were selected to segment the streams to attempt to identify point and non-point sources of E. coli. This program occurred weekly until November of 2002.
