Raw Sewage Overflow Long Term Control Plan and Water Quality Improvement Report
Thank you to all who commented on the draft plan for public review. The comment period has ended and we have finalized the long-term plan.
On Sept. 11, 2006, the City of Indianapolis transmitted the final Raw Sewage Overflow Long-Term Control Plan to U.S. EPA and IDEM for their review and approval. The final plan is posted below in .pdf format.
On Oct. 4, 2006, the city's agreement with state and federal agencies was formalized with the filing of a consent decree in U.S. District Court, which asks the federal court to accept the settlement.
The city received a letter dated January 4, 2007, that stated that IDEM had conducted a substantive review of the plan and had approved Sections 1 through 8. Section 9, which requests a change to state water quality standards consistent with the plan, is still under review by IDEM. A copy of the letter is available below.
