Mayor Ballard announces relief for thousands who travel Kessler Boulevard

Northwest side residents and thousands of commuters traveling along Kessler Boulevard will benefit from a $1.5 million drainage improvement project, Mayor Gregory A. Ballard announced today.

"The city recognizes Kessler Boulevard as major thoroughfare for commuters and residents who live nearby," said Mayor Ballard. "We're working hard to provide relief for these citizens. This project will reduce or eliminate road closures due to flooding by alleviating street and yard flooding."

Mayor Ballard announced a drainage improvement project on Indianapolis' northwest side on Aug. 19, 2008.

Storm sewers are expected to be operational by spring 2009.
