Public Meetings

When a new capital improvement project is proposed, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works organizes public informational meetings so that residents are kept informed about improvements made to their neighborhoods.

Residents that may be potentially affected by the construction are notified by postcard prior to the meeting.  The postcard lists the title and nature of the project and also provides the date, time and meeting location.

At the meeting, DPW representatives and the selected contractors are on-hand to discuss the scope of the project. After the presentation, there is an opportunity for public comment and questions.

All DPW meeting locations are accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed or for further information regarding these meetings, please contact Imelda Oglesby, Community Outreach Coordinator at (317) 327-5238 or via email ioglesby@indygov.org.

For Septic Tank Elimination Program (STEP) projects, please call (317)327-8314.
For more information about STEP visit www.indygov.org/STEP.
