Adoption

The adoption fee is $60. It includes all age-appropriate vaccinations except for rabies, a microchip, spay or neuter surgery, and a heartworm or feline leukemia test. If you are interested in adopting, you may view our adoptable animals here, then come into the shelter to see what pet is right for your home. A simple adoption application must be presented and identification is required.

Surrendering Animals

IACC accepts any animals that are surrendered to us. Identification will be required at the time of the surrender, and we only accept animals during our business hours. If you find a homeless animal after our business hours, please contact the Mayor's Action Center at 327-4622. Surrendering an animal is free of charge, but donations are accepted.

Euthanasia

If your pet has reached a point in his or her life when euthanasia is appropriate due to illness, injury or other suffering, we will provide humane euthanisia for your pet and take care of the remains for no charge. You are welcome to be present at the time of euthanasia. We offer this service anytime during business hours.

Microchipping

Microchipping is the best way to ensure your pet is always carrying proper identification. In the case of a lost pet or natural disaster, this is the only way to ensure your pet will come back to you if it's taken to a shelter. IACC offers microchipping without appointment anytime during normal business hours. The fee is $10.

Animal Complaints

If you have an animal complaint, please call the Mayor's Action Center at 327-4622 and we will send an Animal Control Officer to your area within 48 hours.
