HSUS first launched this commemorative week in 1996 as a way to recognize the indispensable role that the more than 6,000 animal shelters nationwide play in their communities.
"Indianapolis Animal Care & Control offers many services to promote the health, safety and welfare of the people and pets in Indianapolis," said Administrator Jim Garrard.
