DESCRIPTION

Formally known as the Krannert YMCA, Krannert Family Center became a part of Indy Parks and Recreation in 1972.  The park offers fun and exercise from a variety programs and activities.  The park has a year round indoor swimming facility and a seasonal Outdoor Aquatic Center to serve all ages and needs.  For those in need of a serene nature escape, the partially wooded area with a pond and trails provide a nice setting for a relaxing visit.  Even if you are not a swimmer or nature lover, there are plenty of programs sure to meet your interests.

Summer Registration Dates

We will be registering for all summer aquatic classes at 6pm on Thursday, May 1st.  You must come into the family center that evening to register or else you can wait until after noon on Friday, May 2nd.  You may register for all other summer programs on May 2nd.

Don't miss out on this FREE EVENT for Kids!
Join us Saturday May 3rd from 9am-12pm at Krannert Park for the third annual Bicycle Rodeo!  Load up your bikes and bring them down for a morning full of fun!  There will be an antique bicycle display, free safety inspections for your bike along with minor repairs, obstacle courses and skill activities for prizes and more!  Participants must wear helmets (which will also be provided if necessary) and have an adult accompany them.  Pre-registration is preferred but not required.  Don't miss the opportunity to see the Hoosier Antique & Classic Bicycle Club show off their tricks on the antique highwheel  bikes and you can show us tricks of your own!  Ages 1-12 years.  For more information call 327-7375  Code: #124136

We will be registering for the Summer Sessions of  Tumbling, Gymnastics, Hip Hop Dance, Baby Ballerina, Tiny Dancers, Karate, Step Aerobics, Little Shakers, Ballroom Dance,  Swim Team, Swimming Lessons for 6 months through adult, and more in the beginning of May! 

Playtime Explorations
 Krannert's own play group will run from now until Mid-May!  This open play will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.  The cost is $2 per family.  There is no supervision and parents must stay in the room with their children at all times. 

Modern Western Square Dancing and Round Dancing 
This long established club is designed for the experienced dancers, mainstream, and plus. Professional Larry Weakly is the caller. Club dances are held on the second and fourth Thursdays each month. Visitors are welcome. Friendship set to music. Join the fun. For more information call 241-7953 or 244-9913.

Summer Employment
Krannert Park is currently looking for potential candidates for Life Guards, Day Camp Counselors, Cashiers, etc.  Call 327-7375 for more details!  All positions are for those 16 years and older.

Instructors Wanted
We are currently looking for pre-school dance (ballet and jazz), preschool art, and little shakers (preschool exercise, music, etc.)  instructors.  We are also always looking to expand our current program list, so if you are looking for a place in the community to share your talents, please give us a call.  Contact Hillary Garvey at 327-7143 for more information.

Our Arthritis Aqua Exercise Class is also drop-in and is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-2pm.

What kind of programs do you offer?
Krannert Family Center has programs for all ages.  Activities such as the weight room for adults and swim team for youth.  There is also Senior Card Club (Euchre) for those 55+ and a Sewing Club for those that want to learn and share. There are swim lessons that are offered year round, gymnastics, karate, and tumbling, step aerobics, preschool programs and Day Camp.

Indoor Pool Hours:
Open Swim is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am to 1:30pm and on Saturdays from 1-5pm.

  We have lap swim on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30am to 1pm and Monday through Friday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

Indoor Pool Admission:
2 & under: Free
Youth 3-17: $1.50
Adults 18+: $2.50
Seniors 55+: $1.50
