DESCRIPTION
Indianapolis is consistently recognized locally, regionally, and nationally for its premier greenway system. Indy Parks Greenways operates and maintains the city's 39 miles of greenway trails, 26 miles of blueways, a variety of conservation corridors. The Greenways system encompasses streams, old railroad and utility corridors, and historic locations, like the 1836 Canal Tow Path, and will eventually contain more than 150 miles of interconnected trails throughout Marion County.

FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT ON THE GREENWAYS!
Looking for a way to make your time on the trails a little more fun and educational? Who doesn't love a scavenger hunt? Get your kids outdoors this summer and scavenge for treasures on our Greenways. Indianapolis Greenways have a story to tell, and in addition to providing recreation and fitness opportunities, we want to share those stories with you! Some scavenger hunts are more nature oriented while others provide a wonderful story about historic bridges, boardwalks and buildings. Next time you and your family decide to take a walk or bike ride along the Greenways take along a list of items to spot on the Monon and Fall Creek Trails.

GREENWAYS LIBRARY
Imagine being able to research topics like international greenways or land stewardship or the history of the rails-to-trails movement. In the Greenways Depot Library, you can!
We have built a comprehensive inventory of our extensive materials and created a call number system for organizing and labeling the volumes. The library is open to the public during normal business hours. Though materials must stay in the Depot, visitors are welcome to use the large table for their work.
