PLAYGROUND SAFETY
Indy Parks has more than 116 playgrounds for your child's enjoyment. Several of these play structures are accessible for children with disabilities.

Indy Parks strongly recommends adult supervision for children of all ages enjoying any playground

Indy Parks performs routine safety checks on each apparatus annually to ensure your child has a safe and fun visit to our parks.

Our playgrounds are designed according to safety guidelines set forth by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. These guidelines address playground safety issues such as surfacing, protective barriers, equipment height and materials used for each structure.

Parents should look for:
- tripping hazards, like exposed concrete footings, tree stumps, and rocks.

- sharp points or edges in equipment.

- dangerous hardware, such as protruding bolt ends.

If you notice any of the above potential safety hazards at an Indy Park playground, please report these hazards immediately to Indy Parks Maintenance at 327-7083.
