POSITION SUMMARY: Under general direction provides Marion County Public Safety Communications System (PSCS) with support for the efficient and effective day to day operations of the Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD). Operates CAD equipment and the E911/VESTA telephone system. Understands all CAD software applications and be knowledgeable of all user system operations. Assists users in writing statistical reports from the CAD. Assists users in solving complex issues. Works with vendors to resolve issues and maintain the integrity of the CAD system. This position is critical to the continued operation of the Public Safety agencies within Marion County as well as outside of Public Safety agencies dependant on information supplied and or maintained by the CAD system, CAD failure or malfuncion is always handled as an emergency and may be classified as catastrophic incident. |

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer technology and a minimum of (5) years work experience with a computer aided dispatch system to include (2) years experience related to computer aided dispatch oriented or network oriented software applications. Experience with a large multi agency CAD system is preferred. Experience with a 9-1-1 or Enhanced 9-1-1 system is desired. One (1) year of related work experience may be substituted for each year of formal education. Ability to understand computer and network complexities. Must possess a valid Indiana Driver's license. |
