Base Maps

Base maps are standard, geographic maps which detail physical features such as street grids and locations of rivers, railroads, reservoirs, and other easily identifiable features of the landscape.  They are often used as back-drop maps for plotting other information.

The following types base maps are available:  skeleton base maps, county-wide base, and DMD base maps.

Skeleton Base Maps

These maps provide "bare bones" information such as streets, rivers, and reservoirs.

  • Major Streets
  • Complete Street Base

County and Township Base Maps

County and township base maps include more detailed information such as parks, schools, and excluded cities.

DMD Base Maps

DMD (Department of Metropolitan Development) base maps are smaller sections of a county base and include parks, schools, and parcels with addresses.   An index map of the county is provided for locatin specific DMD base maps.
