The Comprehensive Planning staff collects and analyzes data and prepares planning studies relating to land use in Marion County.  This section is charged with preparing the Marion County Comprehensive Plan.  In addition, the Comprehensive Planning section prepares special studies of smaller portions of Marion County.

Past projects include updates of the Comprehensive Plan, planning for Indianapolis wellfields, preparation of "build out" studies, special planning studies in Tax Increment Finance (TIF) districts, preparation of GIS studies, preparation of the vacant land inventory, and development of data inventories.
