Supplemental Review

The supplemental review process is a procedure for more intense review of major approval, rezoning, variance, or companion petitions. This procedure generally applies to petitions that, because of development size or intensity, will have a significant effect on drainage ways, parks, roadways, or sewer systems.

Current Planning staff generally requires a greater amount of information pertinent to these issues, for petitions that are candidates for supplemental review.

Petitions that go through supplemental review have a pre-hearing meeting, which can include interested persons, community organizations, Current Planning staff, other city departments, and the petitioner. The petition then usually goes directly to the Metropolitan Development Commission for public hearing.
