Downtown (Regional Center) Plans

The Subarea Planning staff is responsible for updating the Downtown (Regional Center) plan. The latest downtown plan, the Regional Center Plan 2020, was recently released and will be used to guide development until 2020.

The Regional Center area is bounded by 16th Street on the north, I-65/I-70 on the east, I-70 on the south, and the previously proposed alignment of Harding Street on the west.  The Indianapolis Regional Center Plan 2020 is a partnership between the Department of Metropolitan Development, the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Indianapolis Downtown Incorporated, and the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning.

To obtain Information About the Regional Center Plan 2020, contact Bob Wilch at (317) 327-5115 or Harold Rominger at (317) 327-5147. Information about the Regional Center 2020 plan is also available on the Regional Center Plan 2020 website at www.indyrc2020.org.
