A Citizens Advisory Committee for each township was formed pursuant to state statute (IC-36-7-5-504.5) and City ordinance (380,2004). The tasks of each township's Citizens Advisory Committee were to:
Committee members were appointed by four various entities: the Mayor (one appointee), the City-County Council (one), the appropriate Township Board (four members) and the Metropolitan Development Commission (one).
Meetings began in May 2005 with the Citizens Advisory Committee for Pike Township. By the end of March 2006, each committee had finished meeting and developed their report to the Metropolitan Development Commision.
