DMD’s Division of Compliance to reach out to builders, contractors to provide info on changes to State code
Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development Division of Compliance will offer three separate code update information sessions for contractors, homeowners and design professionals to assist them in becoming familiar with new Indiana Residential Code requirements.
Changes to the state code take effect September 12, 2005 and all residential building permits issued by DMD will be required to be in compliance with these new provisions on this date.
The classes, which are free of charge, will be held at DMD’s Division of Compliance at 604 North Sherman Drive on the following dates:
-Tuesday, August 9, 8:00 a.m.
-Tuesday, August 23, 8:00 a.m.
-Tuesday, August 23, 6:00 p.m.
Classes will be approximately two hours in length, which includes time for questions and answers. Seating will be limited and reservations can be made by contacting Adam Holman at aholman@indygov.org or 317-327-5552, or Jeff Dean at jdean@Ijdean@Indygov.org or 317-327-5544.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their copy of the new International Residential Code 2003 book to the session. Attendees will receive a free copy of Indiana amendments to the code. Copies of the Indiana residential code are available for purchase at the offices of the Division of Compliance.
