City to mark National Homeownership Month by announcing grants to help low income residents achieve the American Dream

Indianapolis – City officials will join community leaders and residents in celebration of "National Homeownership Month" by announcing two grants funded through federal entitlement dollars to assist low-to-moderate income residents achieve the dream of homeownership.

                           When: Tomorrow, June 27, 9 a.m.

 Where: 1647 Centennial (at the house of a new homeowner)

 

The grants will be used for down payment assistance, helping individuals and families, who otherwise could not afford to buy a house, become homeowners.

Since 2000, the city has invested more than $5 million of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant funding in down payment assistance for low-to-moderate income homebuyers.
