A long-time Indianapolis resident, Betty Smith-Beecher brings extensive public sector experience to the City. She has spent nearly 15 years working for local and state governments, beginning in 1983, when she joined the City of Indianapolis, Department of Metropolitan Development, as project specialist in the Division of Housing Development. While at the City, Smith-Beecher worked closely with the Indianapolis community on the design, implementation and coordination of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. |

Neighborhood Liaison for the northwest portion of Center Township, which includes the area north of Washington Street and west of Meridian Street.
A long-time Indianapolis resident, Betty Smith-Beecher brings extensive public sector experience to the City. She has spent nearly 15 years working for local and state governments, beginning in 1983, when she joined the City of Indianapolis, Department of Metropolitan Development, as project specialist in the Division of Housing Development. While at the City, Smith-Beecher worked closely with the Indianapolis community on the design, implementation and coordination of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
Following her service with the City, Smith-Beecher joined the Indiana Department of Commerce, where she served as a Deputy Director for the agency's CDBG program. Smith-Beecher is a graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.
