Oversize Load
This is a Right of Way Use permit. The application is unique to this type of permit, requiring a separate form. This permit is required whenever a request is made to transport an oversize or overweight load inside the City of Indianapolis. These requests are typically made by out of state trucking firms wishing to deliver heavy machinery, factory equipment, etc., inside the city. The boundaries for a permit requirement is any area inside the I-465 beltway. The application form requires a notarized signature by the applicant before being considered. If the load being transported exceeds 150,000 pounds, additional authorization must be obtained before the permit is issued.
