​Citizen's Access Portal

The Citizen’s Access Portal provides continuous online access to information regarding Vacant Board Orders, Demolition Orders, and Repair with Hearing Orders. This portal also offers information on all enforcement cases initiated by the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services by address. Through this website, the user can view the status of every case on the property, including whether the case has been closed and released, any upcoming hearing dates, or if there are any outstanding fees. Information Relating to Property Rights of Real Property

Pursuant to the Good Samaritan Law, Non-Owners of real property have certain rights and abilities to maintain a property that they do not own. If the property is vacant, or abandoned, a person who is not the owner may secure the property, remove trash and debris, mow the grass, and remove paint or graffiti. Properties that are not maintained may incur nuisance liens up to, and including, boarding, repair, demolition, high weeds and grass, and trash orders.

Information Relating to Tax Sales

Pursuant to the Good Samaritan Law, Tax Sale Purchasers have certain rights and abilities to maintain a property that they do not yet own. If the property is vacant, or abandoned, the Tax Sale Purchaser may secure the property, remove trash and debris, mow the grass, and remove paint or graffiti. Properties that are not maintained may incur nuisance liens up to, and including, boarding, repair, demolition, high weeds and grass, and trash orders.
