Litigation
The Office of Corporation Counsel's Litigation Section members represent the city, the county, and the City-County Council in all civil court cases. The litigation team currently handles litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana; U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit; U.S. Supreme Court; Indiana Circuit, Superior and Small Claims Courts; Indiana Court of Appeals; Indiana Supreme Court; and all agency proceedings (EEOC, ICRC, etc.). The litigation team handles all litigation, trials (jury and bench), and appeals involving numerous and varied substantive areas of law such as federal constitutional tort, labor and employment, environmental, state constitutional, negligence, wrongful death, zoning, contract, and municipal.
