Office of City Prosecutor
The Office of City Prosecutor is part of the Office of Corporation Counsel and is responsible for taking legal action to enforce city ordinances. Office team members work with code inspectors and law enforcement to enforce city ordinances.
This section is responsible for filing all code enforcement cases for the City and County, for helping to coordinate non-litigation based improvements to neighborhood quality of life, for representing law enforcement and code enforcement interests at licensing hearings, for serving as a liaison to community and neighborhood groups, and for initiating innovative lawsuits and legal solutions to neighborhood improvement efforts. The City Prosecutor is also responsible for the enforcement of city ordinances and handling those violations that do require a court filing.
