Use With No Excavations

 

This type of Right of Way Permit is required when someone requests the use of the public Right of Way for private use.  The permit includes the use of the lane adjacent to the excavation.  A common example would be for someone who wishes to reserve an area where parking meters are present for valet service or a private event.  Other examples would be where work is being performed on a building and the needed equipment encroaches on traffic, curb lane or a sidewalk.  This type of permit does not require a licensed contractor to obtain, however it is typical for a contractor to request this kind of permit.  If an unlicensed individual will be entered as an applicant.  Sometimes a site plan may be required if a large project requires the use of multiple lanes of traffic.  The permit office reserves the right to require a print or site plan for further review.
