Public Meeting on Sewer Rates |
|
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold three public meetings to inform the public about potential sanitary sewer rate increases for 2009 through 2013. The increases would fund the city's Clean Streams-Healthy Neighborhoods program and allow the city to remain in compliance with its consent decree with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Indianapolis citizens are encouraged to attend one of these public meetings to learn about and provide input on the potential rate increases that may be implemented during the next five years as well as review information on the long-term rate increases needed to fund state and federally mandated sewer projects, as well as other wastewater infrastructure needs.
All meetings will begin with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. followed by an open house from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. |
