Comcast staged an event April 7 at Victory Field featuring "ESPN The Truck" and the five seniors from Indiana University's undefeated 1976 National Championship Basketball Team. Visitors were given a videotape of themselves doing "Sportscenter" and the former players signed autographs outside the truck.

Fox News Channel's Paula Zahn visited the city on April 17 to promote the network's launch on the Comcast system. Mrs. Zahn, hostess of FNC's "The Edge with Paula Zahn," spoke at a luncheon that also featured Congressman Dan Burton and Democratic State Chairman Robin Winston.

Comcast was a platinum sponsor (the highest level of sponsorship) of the Indianapolis Race for the Cure, April 21 at IUPUI. More than 25,000 participants raised more than $600,000 for the fight against Breast Cancer. The event is the city's largest fundraiser. This was the sixth consecutive year Comcast has sponsored the event.

Comcast sponsored the Rik Smits 3-on-3 basketball and soccer tournament on April 21. Proceeds from the tournament benefited STAR Alliance and the Partnership for Drug Free Youth.

Comcast sponsored an award on April 30 from Southport High School during the school's Sponsorship Appreciation Night. Comcast was a sponsor of the Southport Winter Guard Drill Team. |
