Community Events & Sponsorships

October 2000

  • Comcast was a media sponsor of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce's "Hobnob: An Election Showcase" event at Union Station on October 5.  It was the second consecutive year Comcast sponsored the event, which allows attendees the opportunity to mingle with, and hear speeches by candidates on Marion County ballots.
  • Comcast is a sponsor of the "Liberty Bell 7" exhibit at the Children's Museum.  The event opened to the public October 6 and runs through January 7, 2001.  Comcast customers who present their bill at the door get a discount on admission through November 20.
  • Comcast was the media sponsor of the Indianapolis Marathon, held October 7 on the grounds of Historic Ft. Harrison.
  • On October 21-22, Comcast was the presenting sponsor of "Dressage at Sweet Charity Farms," a horse show benefiting Camp Riley.  In addition to promoting the event on our cable system, Comcast presented a check for $5000 directly to Camp Riley at the event.
  • Comcast was the media sponsor of "Buddy Walk 2000," an event benefiting the Indiana Down's Syndrome Society.  The walk was held October 28 at Military Park.
  • On October 29, Comcast sponsored the Hispanic Center's "Day of the Dead" festival at the Indianapolis Art Center.  Comcast was a cash and in-kind sponsor of the festival.
