Community Events and Sponsorships
March 1999
- HBO and Comcast and Time Warner partnered to present a preview screening of the HBO Sports documentary "Dare To Compete: The Struggle of Women in Sports". Held at the IUPUI Conference Center March 2, the screening was followed by a panel discussion featuring the show’s producer, race car driver Lyn St. James, and professional billiards champion Janette Lee.
- Comcast was the official television sponsor of the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, held March 5-6 at the RCA Dome.
- Comcast was the official television sponsor of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament first and second round games held at the RCA Dome March 11 and 13.
- Comcast sponsored Evening in the Garden, a $100 a ticket preview of the Flower and Patio Show at the Fairgrounds. All proceeds benefit Noble of Indiana.
- Comcast purchased a table for the Center for Leadership Development’s Minority Awards Dinner on March 22.
- Comcast purchased a table for the Red Cross Hall of Fame Induction Dinner held March 23 at the Roof Ballroom.
- Comcast donated over $800 worth of equipment to the Walker Career Center, enabling students to continue to wire the facility with cable.
- Comcast donated cash to Marion County Sheriff Jack Cottey’s "Just Say No" fund, enabling 24 students to attend the sheriff’s drug awareness camp at Conner.
