April 1999

  • On April 10-11, Comcast teamed with Great American Country and hosted a booth at the Country Music Expo at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  Comcast gave away a guitar autographed by several country music stars, and one lucky Comcast customer was chosen to co-host GAC's Top 15 Countdown with artist Neil McCoy.  The show aired nationally on April 30.

  • On April 13, Comcast presented a $1000 scholarship to Chris Sunderland, senior at Beech Grove High School.  Chris was the winner of Comcast and American Movie Classic's "From Grit to Grace" promotion, a nationwide search for America's next leading man.  In addition to winning the scholarship for himself, Chris also won a video camera for the school.

  • Comcast was a gold sponsor of the Kommen Race for the Cure, benefiting the Breast Health Awareness League and Little Red Door Cancer Agency.  The annual run/walk, held April 17, attracted over 17,000 participants.
