Community Events and Sponsorships
October 1998
- Comcast sponsored the Sister Cities reception October 6, 1998 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The event marked the anniversary of the Cologne, Germany Indianapolis Sister Cities agreement.
- October 12-14, Comcast taped two-minute segments with 61 candidates for political office in Marion County. Comcast produced and aired a two-hour program featuring the spots, premiering October 30 on Comcast Channel 50. The program was rerun October 31 and November 2 on Comcast and aired on November 2 on WAV TV-53.
- On October 13, 1998, Comcast representatives attended a reception at the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns annual conference. The Indiana Cable Telecommunications Association sponsored the reception.
- On October 27, Comcast taped Newsmakers segments with Mayor Stephen Goldsmith, Carol DAmico from the Hudson Institute, Risa Brainin from Indiana Repertory Theatre, Marion County Prosecutor Scott Newman, Lawrence City Councilor George Callahan, State Senator Murray Clark, Ellen Annala from the United Way of Central Indiana, and Superintendent of Public Instruction Sue Ellen Reed.
