Community Events & Sponsorships
July 1998

Comcast and Sci-Fi Channel were presenting sponsors of the Symphony on the Prairie series the weekend of July 9-11. The concert titled "Under the Stars... and Beyond Them," featured the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performing popular music from science fiction favorites including Star Trek, E.T., Superman, Star Wars, and others.

Comcast produced and aired a commercial for the American Cancer Society's "Reach for the Stars Ball."

Comcast was the television sponsor for the Davis Cup Tennis matches held at the Indianapolis Tennis Center on the IUPUI Campus. The international competition featured American stars Andre Agassi and Jim Courier facing a team from Belgium.

Comcast taped Newsmakers segments on July 30. Guests were: City-County Councilwoman Susan Williams, Senator Dick Lugar, Indiana Attorney General Jeff Modisett, State Senator Jim Merritt, U.S. Senate Candidate Paul Helmke, and Bill McGowen from the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association.
