Community Events and Sponsorships
January 1998
- Comcast produced a Public Service Announcement to promote the new Hoosier Heirloom Birth Certificate. Proceeds from the sales of the birth certificate will be used to prevent early death among Hoosier infants. The PSA features State Senator Jim Merritt and State Representative Vanessa Summers, the sponsors of the bill that led to the creation of the birth certificate.
- Comcast donated more than $2,000 in equipment to Warren Central High School’s Walker Career Center so their students could continue wiring the school with cable. This is an ongoing project that Comcast has supported for several years.
- Comcast renewed its sponsorship of the Indianapolis Urban League and sent seven employees to their Corporate Luncheon on January 26, 1998.
- The first four installments of "Comcast Newsmakers" were taped on January 28, 1998.
