Public Access Report
- Effective October 1, 1996, Comcast is no longer obligated to carry public access programming per the new franchise agreement. Comcast has nevertheless, continued to carry public access programming on Channel 13, as part of their commitment to local community interest programming. Soon, the obligation to carry a channel that requires local educational and public safety programming will replace the programming carried on Channel 13. This should take place around the third week of August or early September.
-
Comcast will move public access programming over to Channel 50, which can only be seen in the upgraded areas. Public access carriage will be subject to limitations on Channel 50 that Comcast incurs due to leased access commitments.
-
Comcast fulfills the rest of its community interest programming commitments (as per the franchise agreement) by carrying WAV53 of Indianapolis. WAV53 is carried in the rebuilt areas on cable channel 99 and in the non-rebuilt areas on cable channel 38
