Karen Kennedy Pierce attended the monthly ETC Board Meeting.
-
Met with Molly Head at WFYI to secure our sponsorship for the PBS series "Arthur" for the next 12 months as part of our "Let's Meet on Sesame Street" commitment.

Met with the ICTA and the Indiana Web Academy to further address the needs for teacher training relating to Cable in the Classroom and Internet training.

Met with IPS to give updates on the "Tech-Know-Grant" status. We also provided premiums for the kids that started their initial training.

Assisted the Marion County PTA Council by working the entry booth at the Marion County Fair. This is one of the annual fundraisers for the organization.
Community Affairs:

Time Warner was a sponsor of the Indiana Black Expo Corporate Luncheon. Al Aldridge is a member of the luncheon committee and produced several videos that were used at the luncheon. We staffed an exposition booth during the weekend.

Al Aldridge attended a medical partnership meeting at St. Vincent Hospital that was sponsored by Hemophilia of Indiana. Aldridge is Chair of the Board of directors for Hemophilia of Indiana.

Attended the annual meeting for the Hispanic Center. Time Warner donated the plaque that was presented to the Board at the meeting.

Attended the annual meeting for the State Hemophilia Foundation in Monticello, Indiana. Al Aldridge was re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors for 2002.

Hosted the Odyssey Network "The Prince and the Pauper" screening at the Circle Centre Mall Theatres. Over 175 customers, employees, and community leaders attended the event.

Attended the Urban League "Ebony & Ivory" annual dinner and meeting at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Time Warner has been a corporate member of this organization for the past 15 years.

Launched a city park program in conjunction with American Movie Classics and the office of the Mayor called "Thursday Movie Classics." We are showing 5 children's movies in an Indianapolis park on five Thursdays throughout the summer. The public library is also a part of the project and brings the "bookmobile" to these screenings. At the first showing, we had over 170 persons in attendance. |
