Education:

Education Coordinator, Karen Kennedy-Pierce participated in two technology workshops for the Indianapolis Public School System. Through her participation, we were able to launch our Cable in the Classroom program to IPS's new technology teachers. We were also added to IPS's web site, CLICK, as a resource for teachers.

Hosted a second session for members of the PTA who are developing 30 second commercials utilizing information from our Critical Viewing Skills classes. The PTA commercials are scheduled for completion and airing on the cable system late in November.

During a "Turn Off the Violence" breakfast for community leaders, Marion County Sheriff, Jack Cottey and former U.S. Senator, Paul Simon praised Time Warner Cable's local efforts to educate the department and middle schools throughout Marion County to teach students critical viewing skills and taking responsibility for their actions.
Community:

Provided major sponsorship to the Circle City Classic that raises scholarship funds for traditionally black colleges. Indianapolis City-County Councilors, Elwood Black and King Ro Conley attended the Coaches' Luncheon as our guests. The former Board Chairman for the Hispanic Center, the head of the Local NAACP, and other community leaders were our guests at the Classic Gala and football game.

WAV-53 TV Talk Show Host Amos Brown featured Buz Nesbit in a ten-minute segment of his show Oct. 11. During the interview, Brown complimented Time Warner for it's support of numerous events in the minority community, especially the Circle City Classic, and promoted the company's upcoming sponsorship of Indianapolis Opera's production of Porgy and Bess.

Over 160 business and community leaders attended a Time Warner sponsored pre-opera reception and production of Porgy and Bess at Clowes Memorial Hall. Representatives from local school boards, city councils, the state legislature, the Coalition of 100 Black Women and 100 Black Men took the opportunity to meet Time Warner Cable's new division president at the reception.

Provided sponsorship for the Heartland Film Festival in conjunction with the Bravo Arts and Film Network.

Time Warner Cable representatives attended the "Roots of Brazil" fundraising event to benefit the Healthnet Organization which provides medical care to low and moderate income families through neighborhood clinics.

Launched our employee pledge drive for this year's United Way Campaign.

PR Manager, Al Aldridge has been appointment to serve on the organizing committee for an Indianapolis Homeless Initiative special event that will be held in 2001.
