Public Affairs Monthly Report

April 2000

Programming:

  • Produced or tagged 30 cross channel promotional spots.

  • Produced promotional spot for Pike Performing Arts of "Haley's Comet."

  • Ran promotional spot for the IRT's production of "Blithe Spirit."

  • Promoted the Indianapolis Opera's production of "Faust" with a 30 second spot.

  • Produced and ran a promotional spot for the Edyvean Theatre's "Steel Magnolia's."

  • Produced and ran a spot for the American Cabaret Theatre's production of "Streetcar Names Desire."

  • Promoted the Phoenix Theatre production of "Wit."

  • Produced and ran a promotional spot for Ballet International's "1001 Nights."

  • Tagged and ran a spot for Dance Kaleidoscope's "Carmen."

  • Tagged and ran public service announcements for "March of Dimes," Cable in the Classroom, the ad council's youth anti-violence program, and the City of Indianapolis' "Earthday" promotion.

  • Produced a video for use by 100 Black Men of Indianapolis at the annual meeting.

Education:

  • Karen Kennedy Pierce represented Time Warner Cable at a Marion County PTAP Council meeting.  She also attended a PTA fundraiser at the Warren Central Performing Arts Center.

  • Coordinated an educational downlink for the Zionsville Lower Elementary School.

  • Hosted a Cable in the Classroom workshop in conjunction with the Indiana Cable Telecommunications Association.

  • Coordinated the appearance of an Indianapolis student and a member of the Marion County Sheriff's Department to address a Capitol Hill news conference on the success of Court TV's Indianapolis "Choices and Consequences" project.

  • Al Aldridge represented TWC at the Marion County Literacy Council dinner at Pike High School where Time Warner Cable was congratulated for being so supportive of the organization's efforts.

Community:

  • Al Aldridge and Karen Kennedy Pierce attended the Annual CTPAA Conference in San Antonio.

  • Shary Johnston represented TWC at the United Negro College Fund's "Kick-Off Luncheon."

  • Coordinated a meeting between Comcast public affairs representative and the Mental Health Association to discuss reasons for Comcast to pick-up sponsorship of the annual INTRO event to benefit MHA.

  • Participated in NCAA Hall of Champions Luncheon to heighten awareness of the new attraction in the city.

  • Al Aldridge attended a planning committee meeting for Indiana Black Expo's Corporate Luncheon.
