Public Affairs Monthly Report
February 1998
Programming:
- As part of our continuing media sponsorships for the arts, we produced and cablecast spots for the Phoenix Theatre’s Taking Sides, The American Cabaret Theatre’s Rockspell, The Indianapolis Opera’s Cinderella, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre’s Tally’s Folly.
- Produced and ran commercial spots for "Jazz in the ArtsGarden;" the independent film Hoop Dreams, which was also shown in the ArtsGarden; and a Black History Month spot featuring the Black Hollywood promotion.
- Produced a video for the Senator Richard Lugar Women’s Recognition Dinner. Each year a select group of Republican women are mentored by the Senator and his organization to enhance the ranks of talented women who can run for elective office.
- Produced and ran a Cable in the Classroom promotional video.
Community:
- Supported the King Walker Wilkins Young dinner benefiting minority programs in the community.
- TWC PR Manager Al Aldridge served as a judge for the film competition of the annual Prelude Awards for high school students planning to pursue careers in the arts.
- Agreed to sponsor a sports celebrity for an appearance at the Circle City Classic.
- Coordinated the appearance of Hoop Dreams star Arthur Agee at the Independent Film Channel/Time Warner Cable screening at the ArtsGarden. The Arthur Agee Foundation received a $500 contribution from IFC and TWC during the event.
