Began walkouts for parochial schools in our franchise areas to determine those who need cable connection for Cable in the Classroom activities.
-
Met with the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library and local business leaders to discuss ways to increase participation in the library's summer reading program. Many businesses have agreed to provide incentive items to kids to read a prescribed number of books. We have agreed to feature library staff members, kids participating in the reading program and their parents on Local Origination show, plus 30-second spots throughout the year.
-
Met with Indiana Repertory Theatre and American Cabaret Theatre to finalize our media sponsorships for both groups during the 1997-98 season. We will provide $25,000 worth of promotion for the American Cabaret Theatre and $50,000 worth of promotion for the IRT.
-
Shary Hoffman-Meadows was named to the Steering Committee for the Indiana Humanities Council's 25th Anniversary Celebration. The anniversary event will be held in November.
-
Provided presenters for Career Days at IPS School 11 and the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility for Girls.
-
Completed preliminary plans for Indiana Black Expo booth at the Convention Center this July. We have ordered the Bugs Bunny costume and will be taking Polaroid photos of children with Bugs during the event.

Conducted second quarter blood drive for the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center. We believe the increased participation from the employees is a result of scheduling the drive in the afternoon rather than in the morning.
-
Al Aldridge accompanied two members of the Indianapolis Gospel Community to the Odyssey Network taping CeCe's Place, which is taped in Nashville and premiers on the Odyssey Network this fall.
-
Phyllis Warman attended a full-day planning workshop for the 1997-98 United Way campaign.
